Work Package 4

WP 4 will consist of four tasks: two tasks devoted to calls for proposals, and two tasks devoted to ERA-Chemistry Research Conferences.

Task 4.1 will be dedicated to a second thematic ERA-Chemistry call for proposals in 2007 with fixed earmarked budgets. For this call there will be the additional option and challenge to increase the order of complexity for proposals. The necessities/opportunities/risks of the realisation of more complex calls will have to be considered within the consortium and with the ERA-Chemistry Scientific Advisory Board (WP 3). Tasks 4.3 and 4.4 will deal with the administration of the new ERA-Chemistry Research Conference scheme.

The preparation and processing of transnational calls for proposals will require an iterative co-ordination process between the leaders of WP 2, WP 3 and WP 4. Stepwise optimised processing procedures will be developed in WP 2, and hot topics for transnational initiatives and ERA-Chemistry Research Conferences will be worked out in WP 3 under the lead of the ERA-Chemistry Scientific Advisory Board. The leader of Work Package 4 will be in charge of all administrative aspects of calls for proposals and research conferences, especially regarding their general time management.
